CORE VALUES
Essential to every part of what we do at Redeemer Midtown Church is our devotion to the Scriptures and prayer. Without these, our core values are mere human efforts. We must be wholly dependent and expectant in prayer that the Lord will move to bring his people to know and love Him more deeply.
Worship God
What it means to us: Christ is the ultimate treasure of our lives. In all that we do, we want to be worshipping, glorifying, and fixing our eyes on Christ.
How it shows up: through weekly rhythms of reading and studying the Scriptures, and singing joyful songs of worship, confession, and petition that are based in the truths of scripture.
Love the Family of God
What it means to us: When we have put our faith in Christ for salvation, we are saved into the family of God. As a part of this family, God has called each of us to use our gifts for the good and service of the brothers and sisters in a local church.
How it shows up: Through showing mercy to one another in our times of need and through offering hospitality to one another, both physically as we gather and in the way we welcome one another into relationship.
Grow as Disciples
What it means to us: Christ is the ultimate treasure of our lives. In all that we do, we want to be worshipping, glorifying, and fixing our eyes on Christ.
How it shows up: through weekly rhythms of reading and studying the Scriptures, and singing joyful songs of worship, confession, and petition that are based in the truths of scripture.
Proclaim the Gospel
What it means to us: Since faith comes by hearing and hearing by preaching, evangelism is essential to being a gospel church. In proclaiming the Gospel, we will spread the glory of Christ among the nations and for those living in spiritual darkness. We proclaim the gospel in our words, and we show the gospel as we extend mercy to those who are can be excluded and unnoticed, in Christ’s name.
How it shows up:
Locally: By hearing the testimonies of others, praying for friends, family, coworkers, and neighbors to come to faith, and actively sharing the Word as Christ’s ambassadors.
Globally: By praying for and giving to international missions; going on cross-cultural trips; and by connecting with international students and refugees
